Mucho congrats to Kike, Antonio, Yannick, and all the other shredders - way to go Diego Sarmiento ! We love SA riding and our riders. See you at the next Inca Downhill - www.IncaDownhill.com
Just want to say: 1) It was pretty windy that morning (more props for Rob J); 2) the jump was built by an 18 year old local kid, a ski bum from Vermont, El Chet, and KBperu.com - it was the first jump we ever built; 3) dont think homey got much sleep the night before by the way :) 4) Marcos is one of the best in the business. and thanks to Gravity Boliva. Lastly, the big glacier right behind him? Right behind there is Machu Picchu
That's a bunch of professionals there, across the board - riders, photographer, and guide. Way to go Bolivi-shredders !
The best part of the sick ponchos is that they keep you warm and the thick wool even provides protection in a crash, ha ha :)
If you really want one, or want more information on the riding here or the famous Inca Downhill race, just check us out at www.KBperu.com
Wow, wow, wow. Those photos are unbelievable. Nary a single huck shot in them but they all totally captured the beauty of Peru, the mountains and the culture. Geez, Derek, you should try your hand at writing in addition to film making, cause your narrative was freaking awesome, especially since that trip was 4 years ago. It makes me want to live there - oh yeah, I already do. Thanks Derek, you are the man.
Great idea - yo, why don't you "randomly" come to Cusco/Ollantaytambo next month for the Inca Downhill DH race? ! Starts at 15,000 feet above sea level at the foot of the Veronica glacier, and drops 5,000 feet down Inca road and singletrack to the finish line below. I'll give Chris Van Dine and elbow to the ribs, and you coast to the finish line :) Check us out at www.IncaDownhill dot com !
It appears as though Aaron will be putting his new gear to the test at 15,000 feet in Peru next month at the Inca Downhill DH event near Machu Picchu (formerly MegaAvalanche). Yeah, super nice guy and we are pumped to see him down here shredding. Details at www.IncaDownhill dot com
